Alexandre Gabriel is the entrepreneur who
transformed Maison Ferrand and Plantation Rum into the global quality
powerhouses they are today. He gathered six friendly fellow Rum-lovers at his
chateau in Cognac, France, to recreate a classic from the past — Old
Fashioned Traditional Dark (OFTD) Rum. It is a blend of three
molasses based Caribbean Rums from Barbados, Guyana, and Jamaica using
three different still types and fermentation processes. And bottled at 69% ABV,

Plantation Rum is owned by French Cognac producer Maison
Ferrand, who control no less than a dozen major brands of premium Spirits
and Liqueurs. Ferrand is all about quality — and you can taste it. Plantation
Rum is their top shelf Rum label. And mighty good stuff it is, too.
They offer a variety of Rums from the Caribbean. Depending on the specific
actual plantation and the country of origin, the Rums can vary between soft
and aromatic to light and elegant — each one showing the
experienced influence of Maison Ferrand.
Nose: Intense and very precise notes of coffee, orange,
plum, jam and truffles.
Palate: It bursts with caramel cream, chocolate and
vanilla notes. It continues on with cinnamon, raisins, nutmeg, oak and molasses
with smoky accents.
