Old Crow Bourbon Whiskey Half Gallon 1.75 ML James Crow was the first distiller to utilize the sour mash process that is used by all bourbon distilleries now. Persnickety about the whiskey he served to his friends, James would stash away a reserve to share with them; this whiskey gets its name from that inspired story. Leading with aromas of stone fruit stewed with cinnamon, apples and a vanilla bean served in a hard, brown bread bowl glazed with caramel. The flavors are simple, sweet and surprisingly balanced. It finishes brisk” oak, spice, vanilla with just a touch of herbs. A new upgrade from the standard Old Crow, which is only three years old. Soft aroma of sweet corn, candy corn, vanilla and light caramel. Similar follow through on the palate” predominently sweet, with more corn, vanilla, and light caramel. It finishes sweet too sweet, actually, a bit grainy, and slightly hot.
