Martell VSOP Cognac Red Barrel
Aged in “Red Barrels”, Martell provides an interesting definition of what this term means. The Cognac House uses it to describe their fine-grained oak barrels once they have previously held Eaux-de-vie for between two years and eight years, changing the character of the oak and giving it a distinctive red color. Only these casks are used to age Martell’s VSOP, as they are said to produce a superior balance.
