Description
Haku Japanese Vodka by SuntoryAvailable exclusively in the US, Haku Japanese Vodka takes its name from the Japanese word for white “ haku. The word haku itself is rooted in the word hakumai, which translates as Japanese white rice. The vodkas production begins in Kagoshima, Kyushu, where white rice is fermented with koji rice to create a mash. The mash is then distilled through pot stills to create a rice spirit. The liquid then undergoes a second distillation through a pot still and a column still, before it is blended and filtered through bamboo charcoal in Osaka, Japan. Its a process that Beam Suntory says is unique to the brand and delivers delicately sweet and subtle flavours.THE JAPANESE CRAFT VODKAHaku is the Japanese craft vodka from the House of Suntory. The name Haku means white in Japanese and refers to the Japanese white rice that is the origin of the liquid. Moreover, it can also be read as brilliant “ a tribute to the craft of mastering a clear, clean, and luminous vodka.Suntory has been making vodka since 1956, and Haku represents Suntorys philosophy of craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to quality.100% JAPANESE RICE AND BAMBOO FILTRATIONHaku is made with 100% Japanese white rice. It has 3 distinct steps in the distillation process:First, Japanese rice is fermented and distilled through a pot still to create a rice spirit in Kagoshima, JapanThen, the rice spirit is distilled a second time through 2 different processes in a pot still and column still to create a uniquely flavored liquidFinally, the liquid is blended and then filtered through bamboo charcoal in Osaka, JapanThe resulting liquids taste profile is clean, soft, and smooth with a sweet rice flavor.
