Description
The name says it all, pretty much: Canadian Rye whisky a blend of whiskys aged 3 to 7 years ” the 3, 5, and 7 refer to barrel ages blended with Quebecois Canada 1 Light maple syrup and caramel color.Distilled four times, it is aged in used Bourbon barrels and bottled at an odd 81 proof. The rye emerges on the palate followed by a subtle taste of the maple on the finish. The aromatics and taste of the maple enhances rather than overwhelms the rich rye whisky flavors. It has a refined character that can be enjoyed simply on the rocks or mixed in a cocktail. The rye whisky used in TAP 357 is produced at the oldest distillery in Western Canada, where it is distilled four times for smoothness then matured in a combination of new, second- and third-use bourbon barrels. Once aged, Master Blender Michel Marcil expertly blends the whiskey.Tap 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whisky begins with a blend of 3, 5, and 7-year Canadian rye whiskies that have aged in used bourbon barrels. The blended whisky is then flavored with Grade 1 light Canadian maple syrup, sourced from Quebec.Tap 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whiskey Tasting NotesNose: Aromas of melted butter and maple syrup with subsequent sniffs offering fresh baked oatmeal biscuit, brown sugar and hints of vanilla.Palate: Semi sweet, gently warming profile featuring maple syrup, whipped butter, pancake and ginger biscuit.Finish: Fairly fleeting on the finish.Distillery InformationTAP is located in Kentucky.
