Platte Valley Corn Whiskey
Your Price:
$28.99
Platte Valley is said to have been in production for 25 years according to various reports. It is labeled as a 100% corn whiskey aged for 3 years, which has inspired us to categorize it as a bourbon even though it doesn't strictly qualify we don't know why but suspect the barrels used to age it are not 3 new oak. More importantly, it presents in a ceramic/earthenware medicine jar style bottle that looks truly pioneer on the shelf. Simple nose that is slightly yeasty, which leads to a palate that has touches of vanilla; the finish is short and clean. This 100% straight corn whiskey comes in a traditional earthenware jug and is made by McCormick .McCormick Distilling Company was founded in 1856 as Holladay Distillery by Ben Holladay.

Platte Valley Corn Whiskey 750 ML Hard to find! It continued to produce whiskey under different names and owners even through Prohibition as medicine only! The McCormick name was actually purchased from another distillery and persists through the modern era. It's still in the original location owned by partners Ed Pechar and Mike Griessar.
