Glenlivet 18 Years Single Malt Scotch 86 Proof
Discontinued for 18 Years Old Batch Reserve 80 Proof
I’ve seen 2 different
versions of Glenlivet 18 while out whisky hunting. One is with a blue &
white box and label with no mention of “batch reserve” and another that’s all

is the batch reserve is bottled at 40% instead of 43%. Around me, the batch
reserve has replaced the standard 18 year within the last year.

Vibrant orange-amber color and a warm, citrusy scent.
Expect lots of honey and caramel from the get-go, winding into an interestingly
dry and lingering finish entwining leather, cocoa, coconut and ginger. Good
Over the course of 18 years our Master Distiller, Alan
Winchester, takes this expression through a combination of cask types,
including both first and second-fill American oak (for tropical fruitiness) and
ex-sherry oak (for spicy complexity). The result of this deft navigation of the
distilling arts is a gorgeous single malt that is complex, yet elegant and
balanced. The 18 Year Old has won more awards than any other expression; every
bottle is a true example of the quality and taste of The Glenlivet. Any bottle
deserves pride of place in your cabinet… perhaps to be held back for a fitting
occasion? It is, after all, crafted to impress.
